Emergency Management Specialist

Raytheon UTD (www.raytheon.com/businesses/riis/utd/), a rapidly growing wholly-owned subsidiary of the Raytheon Company, with over 25 years experience providing excellent service to DoD, civil government agencies and the private sector, is seeking a Emergency Management Specialist for our Springfield, VA office. We specialize in innovative engineering solutions, hardware design and development, facility design and protection, emergency management programs, facility assessments, and a variety of other products and services. Responsibilities : The successful candidate will review and revise emergency action and contingency plans, processes, procedures to ensure the personnel respond appropriately to all-hazard threat and vulnerabilities; will train individuals and staff in emergency response procedures and on individual protective equipment; and will provide emergency response and preparedness subject matter expertise to critical government offices, their personnel and family members. Knowledge of incident management system required. Responsibilities will include applying data from threat and vulnerability survey teams to develop tailored emergency action plans for local and state office locations as well as Washington D.C. Strong personal communication and training skills a must; experience in emergency response training and accountability procedures required. Professional certification as Certified Emergency Manager or Certified Business Continuity Planner desired. Limited travel outside Washington D.C. may be required. Required Skills/Experience: Candidates must be US Citizens and possess an active Secret security clearance. Candidates must have a minimum of a BS in engineering, emergency management, political science or related field. Minimum 8 years relevant experience with 5+ years emergency management and supervisory experience, able to manage small and large, diverse groups in a training environment and manage evacuation/shelter-in-place operations. Excellent customer service and customer relationship management skills. Ability to succinctly articulate ideas and concepts and drive organizational change.
