Our rapid growth has created an opportunity for an Electronic Parts Specialist and Parts Librarian to support the design and production of our Falcon 1 and Falcon 9 launch vehicles and our Dragon spacecraft. 

 

Description:



An Electronic  Parts Specialist and Librarian will be responsible for inventory, specification, and verification of electronic parts for the Avionics Department.

 

Responsibilities: 

Maintaining electronic computer aided design (ECAD) parts libraries Creating library parts as needed by design engineers Assisting design engineers with selection of components (commercial, industrial and military) suitable for launch- and space-vehicle applications Identifying appropriate alternative suppliers for electronic components Reviewing parts failures, commissioning destructive parts analyses and other root-cause investigations Monitoring industry-wide parts alert databases (GIDEP) Reviewing parts de-rating in circuit designs

 

Requirements: Experience with ECAD libraries and library configuration management Familiarity with modern passive and active electronics components Familiarity with surface-mount and ball-grid array components Familiarity with both MIL STD and commerical components Understanding of electronic fundamentals

 

Preferred Skills: Aerospace industry experience Familiarity with space radiation effects on electronic components Bachelor's degree in electrical and electronic engineering Experience with PCB layout and routing Experience with pick-and-place PCB assembly Experience with automated PCB inspection
