Electrical Engineering Specialist
Electrical Engineering Specialist – Requisition # E426
Work under the administrative direction of engineering management. Specific duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Generate processes and solutions to engineering problems and contract requirements to support pre-contract marketing activity and post-contract design, test and production work, as required. Prepare briefings and present in support of all phases of program activities for internal and external customers, including design reviews, product marketing, risk identification.
Is responsible for a broad range of design assignments that include: 1) generation of preliminary concepts and layouts; 2) research a wide variety of technical information and historical background data, as required; 3) diagnose troubled areas and take/recommend corrective actions; 4) maintain records, data and other pertinent information, submitting as necessary.
Is responsible for a broad range of project management assignments that include: 1) manage any personnel assigned to perform various tasks relating to project or program; 2) assist and direct personnel when necessary; 3) prepare cost estimates, budgets, schedules, progress reports, summary reports and management briefings on status of technical aspects, budgets and schedules of ongoing programs; 4) estimate any scheduled work as directed; 5) maintain priorities and schedules, alerting management of problem areas; 6) participate in departmental planning, manpower and computer requirements, etc.
Establish and maintain effective communication with customers, subcontractors and other departments to facilitate problem identification and resolution. Communicate effectively, in oral and written form. Maintain professional standards of conduct and performance. Support/implement continuous improvement activities. Eliminate waste in program work and related processes.
Maintain currency in relevant areas of engineering expertise. Area of concentration include the following area of design: electrical.
Requirements:
Broad knowledge of an advanced and technically specialized field such as electrical engineering. BSEE, with at least 1 to 2 years graduate level work leading to a Master’s degree or equivalent learning experience. 7 to 10 years of progressive engineering experience.
