Electrical Engineer I
Electrical Engineer I Objective: The Electrical Engineer I develops and designs training and simulation devices and equipment for military and civilian applications. The Electrical Engineer I analyzes requirements, develops designs and modifications for electronic and electro-mechanical subsystems, parts, and assemblies, and documents those designs utilizing CAD analysis, modeling, and drafting software tools such as Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD, and PC board analysis and layout tools, all in adherence to project schedules and objectives, and in accordance with department processes and standards. Typical Duties: Typical Duties include, but are not limited to: conducting and/or participating in a multi-discipline engineering team supporting the life cycle activities of electrical and electro-mechanical products and systems and ensuring all activities are compliant with department standards; providing input to and/or participating in the planning of electrical projects; applying knowledge of engineering development methodologies to the design, implementation, test of electrical systems; updating documentation; and supporting Platform Engineering products, all in a timely and professional manner.
Job Requirements:
A BS degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering. 2-5 years practical experience developing electrical products, developing hardware assemblies, video displays, panels and panel overlays, PCB packages, and have knowledge of current PC, data acquisition, and I/O technologies, all within a product development environment. Additional experience producing assembly and piece part drawings, sketches, and instructions; creating Bills of Materials; and, assisting in prototype building and debugging. A high level of communication with all departments involved in the design and manufacturing process is required. Some assignments may require travel. Hands-on prototyping and troubleshooting skills. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. CE certification experience is strongly desired. Candidates must be U.S. Persons as defined in the ITAR, 22 CFR 120.15 (U.S. Citizenship or Resident Alien Status) and as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1101(a) (20).
