Electrical Engineer/ASIC Designer

Electrical Engineer/ASIC DesignerDescription: A great opportunity to work for a high-tech aerospace company and team up with some of the brightest minds to create some very cool products.Your duties will be: Lead ASIC or FPGA design engineer to the development of million+ gate commercial FPGAs or ASICs. Generating the component requirements and specifications, defining top-level architecture as well as micro architecture for detailed implementation, developing HDL code, defining verification methodology, building a test bench for self-checking verification, modeling of c reference to verify RTL functionality vs requirements, performing detailed synthesis, timing analysis, and analysis of reset and clock start-up time lines. Contributing to internal design reviews to ensure adherence to the company ASIC and FPGA design process and methodology in addition to reviews with customers to make sure requirements are being met and also risks and opportunities are properly identified and addressed. Leading and mentoring junior engineers throughout the various phases of design definition, preliminary design, and detailed design and be involved in proof-of-concept testing and unit integration after part fabrication. Applicants selected will be subject to a background investigation. Requirements: The right candidate will have the following qualifications: BSEE Strong knowledge of ASIC and/or FPGA design methodology and be well versed with both front-end design, simulation, verification cad tools as well as back-end physical implementation toolsets. 6+ years engineering experience with increasing levels of project management and leadership experience. Excellent verbal, written and communication skills are required as you will be interfacing with managers and customers Strong advocate of process improvements such as CMMI and Six Sigma. Ability to influence development of project objectives and goals Excellent follow-through and persistence Strong technical judgment and decision making abilities. Knowledge of digital board design and signal integrity principles is a plus.
