ELECTRONICS ENGINEER

Aydin Displays, Inc. seeks an Electronics Engineer to work on new product design & development, as well as support existing product maintenance.  This employee will need to be flexible enough to both take responsibility for a team of coworkers and personally manage multiple tasks to reach project conclusion.  

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 The Electronics Engineer is a vital role, and responsibilities include:

·  Design new products as defined by management and marketing specifications.

·  Modify existing products as required to accommodate special customer needs or find substitutes for obsolete components. 

·  Solve production problems with existing products. 

·  Solve field problems experienced by customers with existing products. 

·  Participate in product qualification testing such as EMI, vibration, etc.  

·  Assign technical tasks to inside and outside persons and manage their execution.

 

SKILLS AND APTITUDES: 

The successful candidate will have a four-year Electrical Engineering degree such as a BS or BE as a minimum, and should have at least 5 years of work experience as an EE. The candidate’s skill set must be a mix of some or all of the following:

 

·  Analog and digital circuit design skills particularly related to video display technologies; Microprocessor and programmable logic experience is a plus.

·  Proficiency in Assembly Language, C, C++, and Visual Basic is a plus.

·  Willingness to learn new technologies, acquire new skills, and to achieve exceptional proficiency level in video display technologies.

·  Electronic CAD skills such as schematic entry and PCB layout design.

·  Product specification writing and drawing skills as related to component procurement and new product definition.

·  Electronic packaging design skills including wiring, PCB assemblies and small-case industrial equipment design.

·  Electronic troubleshooting and testing skills. Competence with the oscilloscope, signal generators, and common electronic test equipment is mandatory; familiarity with video test equipment is a plus.

·  Hands-on experience with video display devices and technologies. Familiarity with video standards, such as RS-170 & RS-343 timing requirement, testing and installation practices.

·  Familiarity with the electronic component supply infrastructure and purchasing practices.

·  Ability to competently assign technical tasks to others and manage their execution both inside and outside the company.

·  Electronic bench skills such as soldering, cable making, device programming and breadboard construction.

·  Familiarity with optical light measurements and related equipment such as spot photometers and luminance meters is a plus.

·  Working knowledge and experience with military equipment test specifications and procedures.

·  Willingness to occasionally travel overnight to customer sites and work with them to evaluate and solve technical problems.

·  Willingness to participate in the design and production of devices to be used in military combat.
