ITT Space Systems Division (SSD), an industry leader in aerospace and defense remote sensing systems and space products, is seeking a Director of Business Management. This key management role will direct the integrated Program Cost/Schedule Control Functions for division to include business planning, forecasting, budgeting, scheduling, financial reporting and the applicable business management tasks, systems and tools required. This role will also direct the financial controls of performance on all contractual work in order to safeguard company assets and profit position. The Director of Business management and Control will represent SSD on program and company contract audits and negotiation with customers. Functional responsibilities also include Enterprise Resource Management, Material Audit, IR&D, Dept. Budget, B&P, and Proposal Cost support.Scope of Position: The position is responsible to the Vice President, Finance and Controller/Treasurer of Space Systems Division for those activities associated with Program Financial Reporting and Program Cost/Schedule Control function for the Division as well as other projects, financial analysis, proposals and resource management. Performance of this position relates to and works with Senior Staff and various functional Managers. This position will also be involved with complex analysis tasks for Senior Staff and/or VP Finance.Job responsibilities: - Directs the establishment and maintenance of an integrated cost/schedule plan for program financial control of assigned Engineering, Manufacturing and Procurement activities; this includes budget preparation, operational sales forecast, cost/schedule control, variance analysis, resource management, and other similar operations.- Directs the financial preparation and submission of all contract proposals to customers, to ensure conformity with sound financial practice, adherence to the company's estimating system and other internal procedures, and to safeguard the company's profit position.- Plans and directs the establishment of uniform accounting methods, practices, and procedures to control financial operations and achieve approved objectives.- Directs the financial control of performance on all program and company contractual work in order to safeguard the company's profit position and to prevent exposure to losses.- Directs the preparation, analysis and enforcement of multiple department and program budgets and cost/schedule control procedures to safeguard the assets of the Company.- Formulates and recommends accounting policies and ensures such policies are in compliance with relevant Cost Accounting standards and F.A.R.- Provides leadership and Accounting support in contract reconciliations and contract close-outs.- Ensures that the financial and accounting policies and practices within area of responsibility are consistent with the ITT SSD Disclosure Statement and comparable ITT Corporate policies and practices.- Ensures compliance with company and Government requirements for a reliable and functioning Earned Value Management System (EVMS)- In addition to program analysis, provides analysis for complex special tasks such as capital expenditures, direct to indirect, and job shop labor as directed by Senior Staff and/or VP Finance.- Directs the preparation of data and participates as a senior member of the negotiating team in contract negotiation and other sale agreements with the Government or any other customer.- Directs the development and maintenance of tools and processes along with the training and development of the Business Management & Control staff necessary for performance of the function.- Performs those administrative responsibilities common to all senior managerial positions.SUPERVISION EXERCISED:Business Management & Control management personnel, administrative support personnel. Positions that are indirectly supervised are Cost Account Managers, Business Managers and Program Control Leads, Schedule / Cost Project Assistant's, Schedule / Cost Project Analyst's, Schedule / Cost Program Analyst's. Equivalent Education Level Required: - M.B.A or M.S. in Business or Engineering with 15 + year relative business management and/or cost accounting experience including background in Manufacturing and Engineering operations. - Must have demonstrated experience in working with all levels of executive management and have solid customer relations management experience, preferably with government customers. Knowledge Required:- Solid knowledge of current accounting systems and procedures, working knowledge of C.A.S., F.A.R., and sound business management principles and techniques. - Specialized Cost Accounting knowledge on research and development engineering and manufacturing programs. - Cost analysis knowledge relating to profit and loss consideration evaluation on operating programs.ITT is an Equal Opportunity / Affirmative Action Employer.
