Database Administrator/ Developer
Participate in a team to perform the following:
- Single spiral development of databases and database applications
- Database development and maintenance
- Analyze new database technologies and integrate into existing systems
- Perform database performance and functional testing
- Prepare and peer review documentation, i.e. Software Requirements Specifications, Design Documents, Test Plans, Code Reviews and Trade Studies, etc.
- Provide technical guidance to customers and team members
- Lead various database development efforts
- Provide general guidance to team members
Candidates must have a Bachelors of Science Degree or equivalent, with relevant work experience. A degree in computer science or related field is desirable;
- Strong skills in MS SQL, SQL Analysis Services, data manipulation, database tuning, programming of SQL scripts and stored procedures, Reporting Services, Transact-SQL, SQL Integration Services, HTML and XML.
- Well-versed in development standards using SQL Server.
- Familiarity with common web development standards.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
- Must be a self starter with good organizational and analytical skills with solid ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
- Experience with both WSS (Windows SharePoint Services and SharePoint Portal Server (SPS) V2 (2003/4) administration.
- Business Intelligence knowledge and/or experience.
- 2-4 years experience utilizing .NET development languages (VB.NET or C#).
- 2-4 years experience maintaining and utilizing Oracle.
- 2-4 years experience maintaining and utilizing MySQL.
- Familiarity with user-centered design and usability practices.
- Experience with configuration of CRM, ERP, Exchange, and Outlook applications a plus.
- MCSE or MCP a plus.
