DATA ANALYSIS SOFTWARE ENGINEER

Performance Expectations:

This individual will be part of a development team to design, implement and test software used to analyze data generated from the Advanced Baseline Imager (ABI). ABI is a meteorological space borne instrument.  The software will be used to test and verify the performance of the instrument.

Education:

·  Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Image Science

Basic Core Skills:Object-oriented analysis and design skillsUML knowledgeC++ programming experienceModel based development (ideally Rational Rose RealTime)Excellent communication and writing skills Image processing software experience (ideally IDL)

 Additional Skills:Minimum 3 years C++ and UML software development experience

 Special RequirementsMust be a US Citizen.

Specific Duties / Responsibilities:

·  Responsibilities include participation in all phases of the software development lifecycle including requirements gathering and definition, analysis, design, implementation, and testing. 

·  Responsibilities will also include participation in peer review of documentation and code.The person must be a self-starter, able to work independently with strong organizational skills and also work as part of a team.  A disciplined approach to software development and documentation is absolutely necessary. In addition the candidate must be able to:

Ø Manage multiple tasks simultaneously

Ø Prioritize own activities

Ø Generate credible estimates

Ø Work to a published schedule
