Cost EstimatorDescription: We are looking for some who can perform the following tasks: Estimates labor hours and material costs for hardware-oriented electrical and mechanical engineering and manufacturing tasks in support of company proposal and contract activities. Works closely with project engineers to develop engineering and manufacturing labor hour estimates and with vendors, subcontractors, and procurement to develop a consolidated priced summary bill of material. Computes cost factors and prepares estimates used for management purposes such as planning, organizing and scheduling work, preparing bids, selecting vendors or subcontractors, and determining cost effectiveness. Responsible for observing all laws and regulations and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the company. Expected to maintain a productive and safe working environment in accordance with established operating procedures and practices. Requirements: Must have Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent experience) in business administration or related discipline and minimum of 3 years of experience. Experience in working with engineers and vendors in the development and validation of labor, material and subcontract estimates for high-technology systems. Must possess the ability to develop and communicate new concepts; apply them accurately throughout and evolving environment; organization, schedule, and coordinate work phases and determine the approach at the task level or with assistance at the project level to provide solutions to a range of complex issues. The ability to resolve complex problems in a timely fashion; strong communication, leadership, presentation, and interpersonal skills; in a team environment. Experience and knowledge in FAR and TINA. Proficiency in MS Office, Access, and Project.Some qualifications that would be desirable are: Working knowledge of pricing and estimating tools. U.S. Navy program acquisition, shipbuilding, and DOD experience.
