Controls Engineer
This position is within the GESS II contract. The performance based work will be assigned to the Instrumentation Structures and Materials Testing Section of ASRC Aerospace, Inc.
ASRC Aerospace, Inc. shall provide the necessary personnel with an MS. in mechanical, electrical or aerospace engineering or a related discipline. While a recent graduate in one of the engineering specialties is acceptable, a candidate with at least 5 years of experience in controls is desirable. Specific experience with Matlab and Simulink is highly desirable. Experience with diagnostics of aircraft propulsion systems is beneficial. Familiarity with controls and parameter estimation of aircraft propulsion systems is also desirable. Programming experience in C, C++ and Fortran is needed. Experience with aircraft engine gas-path performance diagnostics is desirable. The ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams as well as independently is required. Good time management skills, oral and written communication skills are required.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
Work will be conducted using NASA computer facilities.
