Contracts Specialist

Hamilton Sundstrand is among the largest global suppliers of technologically advanced aerospace and industrial products. The Contract Specialist will be responsible for the management and administration of contracts for major aerospace and defense companies, commercial aviation businesses and the U.S. Department of Defense. Emphasis is placed on strong communication skills, problem solving, strategic analysis, critical thinking and the ability to interface with external customers and internal functional groups to implement and carry out contractual terms and agreements. Responsibilities: 1. Evaluates requests for proposals (RFPs) and other customer requirements and evaluates/recommends business approach and evaluates/develops contract terms, pricing strategies, and drafts contract language. 2. Develops and maintains detailed performance metrics against contract requirements; maintains detailed records, data base and files for each contract, contract amendments and related documentation. 3. Manages contract changes and issues related to stop work, terminations and penalties. 4. Interacts with internal and external customers regarding contract status and issues through both written and verbal formats. B.S. in business, marketing, finance or related field. Minimum of 2 years experience in contracts administration; government and/or aerospace background preferred. Must be proficient in the use of PC and applicable software applications with excellent communication skills (verbal and written), and the ability to effectively resolve issues and multi-task in a fast paced and team oriented work environment.
