Contracts Manager, Global Accounts (3348)

Location Carlsbad CAJob Responsibilities Responsible for leading our international and domestic contract management for our rapidly growing Tactical Data Links business area, including contracts for ViaSat’s advanced data link terminals for military aircraft. Uses skilled negotiations and cultural sensitivities to work with overseas Governments, companies and U. S. Agencies to propose and manage direct commercial (DCS) and Foreign Military Sales (FMS) contracts. Works closely with capture team and management in creating new business proposals, assesses risk on terms and conditions, and provides creative contractual solutions. Prepares Teaming and International Representation Agreements to promote our products and related commercial products.  Supervises a staff of two Contract Administrators and reports to the V. P. of Contracts and Strategic Relations.  Specific tasks include international business capture support, proposal and agreement preparation, negotiation, the management of complex contracts, and contract interpretation. Candidate will have excellent written, communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with a team of Program and Business Development Managers. Candidate will also be detail oriented and has proven experience in working within a team. Up to 25% travel required.Experience/Skills Required Experience in negotiating international contracts including International Representation agreements and DCS/FMS contracts. Has familiarity with commercial terms and conditions and exporting laws. Knowledge of Government acquisition techniques, Offset Agreement, FAR and DFARS familiarity a plus. 5-8 years previous experience.Education Requirements BA/BSTravel Required Up to 25 percentUS Citizenship Required?
