Continuous Improvement Coordinator
Supports a Lean Manufacturing initiative by studying and analyzing manufacturing operations workflow; recommends standardized procedures to improve efficiency. Expedites operations that delay schedules and alters schedules to meet unforeseen conditions. Analyzes production activity to ensure smooth and controlled flows of materials, timed to meet production requirements. Analyzes processes for establishing material, equipment, and human resource requirements; analyzes departmental standards and practices. Evaluates written data such as job order process and operation sheets; parts, materials and inventory lists; and machine and production rates to establish efficient allocation and scheduling. Issues written and verbal instructions; provides training in new manufacturing and engineering workflow processes. Troubleshoots and follows-up on potential schedule problems. Evaluates and recommends manufacturing sequences and lead-times. Performs specialized financial activities; investigates and coordinates analysis requiring competence and specialized knowledge of various financial functions such as budgeting, auditing and inventory. Conducts special studies and surveys to summarize and analyze complex financial actions and prepares recommendations for policy, procedure, control or action. Analyzes plan capacity data and performs mathematical calculations to determine manufacturing process, tools, and human resource requirements. Expedites operations that delay schedules and alters schedules to meet unforeseen conditions. Reviews engineering plans and analyzes information flow and process to determine raw materials requirements to support manufacturing schedule. Works with Engineering and related areas to develop tools and procedures to maximize facility and equipment utilization. May provide guidance to nonexempt personnel. Assignments are generally the most complex within planning activities and include the attainment of planning objectives where products and/or production processes are new or manufacturing processes are variable.
