Computer Science/Mathematics Research Intern

Computer Science/Mathematics Research Intern Battelle is a world leader in science and technology research. Our Statistics and Information Analysis (SIA) group specializes in providing support to environmental, health, transportation, engineering, defense, homeland security, and other research projects. SIA is seeking computer science/mathematics research intern in the Columbus, OH area for part-time work. We are seeking candidates who can work (a) between 15 and 20 hours per week during the school year and (b) up to 40 hours per week during the summer or other school breaks. Compensation will be based on qualifications and experience. The selected candidate will work at Battelle's corporate headquarters at 505 King Avenue in Columbus, Ohio. The primary responsibilities for the position will be: - Mathematical programming - Database development - Development of desktop applications, web applications, etc. Candidate resumes must demonstrate the following minimum requirements in order to be forwarded for consideration: - Excellent progression towards a bachelors degree computer science, mathematics, computer engineering, or related degree. Additional demonstrated competency in Microsoft® Visual Basic, Access, SQL Server, C, C++, Java, C#, .NET, .ASP, SAS, XML, and HTML is a plus. Additional selection criteria will include but is not limited to the ability to demonstrate high motivation for success, ability to deliver solid, well-designed, defensible computer code, and the ability to work effectively on teams.
