Carter Aviation Technologies, located in Wichita Falls, Texas is currently seeking full-time composite technicians to build aerospace structures.

Job Description:

Composite Technician – Primary job responsibility involves supporting ongoing manufacturing of aerospace vehicles.  

Desired skills: Composite lay-up and vacuum bagging experience Familiarity with use of prepreg carbon & fiberglass fabrics, foam cores, and structural adhesives (knowledge of wet-lay-up for fabrication and repairs will be considered in lieu of prepreg experience) Experience in trimming and drilling composite laminates Experience in preparing surfaces for bonding, including use of peel ply, hand abrading and grit blast Mechanical assembly experience Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings is a must Tooling experience will be considered a plus Must have an excellent work ethic and attendance history  

Key responsibilities: This non-exempt position will be responsible for fabrication and assembly of composite aerospace structures, up to and including final assembly of prototype aircraft. The successful candidates will be able to work in a fluid development environment where design changes are common and accepted.  The candidates will interface with engineering and manufacturing team members to improve designs and fabrication processes.
