Coating Systems Manager

SUMMARY DESCRIPTION:  Manages UV Coating, Thermal Cure Coating, and Utility Department while assisting the Manager of Thin Films.  Assists and makes recommendations to the Engineering Department with regards to the implementation and development of new and existing products, custom-built systems, and equipment repair.  Oversees vendors, expedites orders, and interacts with all other departments.

 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

·  Ensure on time delivery of goods along with participating in sales calls pertaining to department products

·  Engage in improving the quality and suitability of the Company's products by reducing the cost and increasing the capability of said products

·  Ensure all thin film, UV and thermal cure products meet in-house and customers’ processing specs and that each item is documented accordingly to customers’ needs

·  In conjunction with the Engineering Department, assist with Sales in investigating and developing new coatings, new coating processes, prospects and customers

·  Participate in the planning of projects assigned to the department and schedule and assign work accordingly

·  Assist Vice President in providing technical leadership, development, and documentation along with other department heads

·  Provide technical guidance in the construction of equipment such as models, test apparatus, and processing equipment

·  Develop and maintain association with outside organizations and institutions pertinent to the interest and needs of R&D and the Company

·  Delegate responsibility and authority in developing and training personnel under his/her jurisdiction for the assumption of more responsible duties

·  Prepare reports for management - including ISO

 

EDUCATION/RELATED EXPERIENCE:  Degree in engineering and a minimum of five (5) years experience in a responsible capacity in such areas as product design, chemistry, or optical filters; business degree helpful

 

QUALIFICATIONS:  Strong analytical, people, and communication skills - both oral and written
