Defense & Security Systems:Sensis Defense & Security Systems division increases tactical capabilities through advanced radar detection and surveillance integration products. Customers include the worlds militaries as well as system integrators. Sensis Corporation currently has an opening for a CM/QA Manager in our Syracuse, NY location.The Configuration Management/Quality Assurance (CM/QA) Manager is responsible for managing all facets of the Sensis Quality Management System (QMS). This includes assuring maintenance of the Standard Operating Procedures, conducting Quality System Overview training for new hires, providing internal process related training, and for coordinating ISO 9001:2000 certification and SEI CMMI Level 3 certification activities, audits and appraisals. In the QMS capacity, the CM/QA Manager is responsible for convening quarterly Management Reviews with Senior Management, convening quarterly Process Working Group (PWG) meetings, and for generating the annual Process Improvement Plan (PrIP) and associated resources and budgets for senior management approval.The CM/QA Manager communicates Business strategies to the various disciplines within the CM/QA organization, and ensures that CM/QA goals and objectives are established to support both strategic and tactical needs of the organization. The following disciplines report to the CM/QA Manager:Software and Hardware CMSoftware and Hardware Quality AssuranceProduction Quality Control (QC) Inspection and Supplier ManagementInternal Quality System Audits and Process Improvement Engineer(s)Administrative responsibilities include supporting the Director of Operations in manpower planning, scheduling of resources, and flow down of Business strategies and needs. As the CM/QA Manager, this individual is responsible for mentoring and training CM/QA personnel, for performing annual performance reviews, and identifying personnel goals and objectives, and professional development plans.Responsibilities include:Quality Management SystemMaintain Standard Operating Procedures to ensure compliance with ISO 9001:2000 and SEI CMMI Maturity Level 3 for Systems/Software EngineeringDevelop and manage implementation of PrIP approved improvement initiatives with the Process Improvement Engineer, including DataDrill implementationMonitor Internal Audit schedule and coordinate conduct with the Internal Audit teamQuality AssuranceEvaluate/review incoming contracts, assign quality assurance representation/assignmentMonitor program and Quality data/metrics and initiate Corrective and Preventive Actions as necessaryCommunicate with the Software QA Project Lead and Hardware QA Manager to ensure appropriate coverage is available and that QA-related process improvements are on scheduleConfiguration ManagementCommunicate with the CM Manager as necessary to ensure appropriate CM coverage is available and that CM-related process improvements are on scheduleProduction QC/Supplier ManagementCommunicate with the Production QC Manager as necessary to ensure appropriate QC coverage is available, and that QC-related process improvements are on schedule Education Required: Bachelor's degree with at least 10 years experience in Quality Control/Quality Assurance capacity.Knowledge of CM standards a plus.ASQ Certified Quality Manager certification considered a plus.Required Skills: Highly motivated self starterExcellent communication and team building skills and the ability to motivateKnowledgeable in ISO 9001:2000, SEI CMMI and industry CM/QA standards (Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing)Knowledgeable in the use of automated CAPA and CM tools and databasesFamiliarity with MRP systemsProficient in Microsoft Office applicationsDetail orientedDesired skills:Experience with FAA, DoD and Foreign Military Sales customers a plus.Sensis provides an excellent working environment offering advancement and professional growth opportunities, competitive salary, and a comprehensive benefits package.
