The Orbital Common Hardware (CHW) operations and business manager is responsible for CHW tactical and strategic operations. Key responsibilities include CHW demand management from program requirement identification to hardware green tag, management and supervision of the CHW operations staff (which includes 4 senior systems planners, 1 material cost account manager (CAM) and 1 proposal material CAM), oversight/management of CHW supplier managers, development of metrics to monitor CHW operations performance, CHW forecast development from regular interactions with Orbital/program executive staff, regular meetings with Orbital programs to monitor/status CHW delivery schedules and program needs, CHW proposal activities supporting programs, CHW pool/rate monitoring and CHW material revenue risk/opportunity tracking. A Bachelors Degree (BA/BS) in Business or Engineering, or equivalent experience, plus ten (10) years of experience is preferred. A Master's Degree or equivalent experience is preferred.Excellent oral, written, presentation and interpersonal skills with history of interfacing effectively with all levels of management as well as both internal and external customers and suppliers. High energy/self starter with proven leadership skills and ability to multi-task in a multi-functional environment. Knowledge of MSOffice, MSProject, MSExcel and Costpoint software packages. Demonstrated proficiency and expertise in program management techniques including EVMS and CAM duties including direct and matrix management of support staff. Demonstrated initiative, flexibility, and resourcefulness to support fast-changing program requirements.
