Location: hampton, VA 23665 Employment Type: Full Time, Employee Reference Code: 1001136350 Business Process Improvement Consultant Location:  Hampton, Va - Langley AFB Term:  Temp to Perm The individual assigned to this position will work in support of the Air Force Air Combat Command at Langley Air Force Base, in Hampton, VA.  This individual must have AFSO21 certification and facilitation experience.  The position requires the ability to develop and maintain business relationships, and leadership/communication skills.  Specific tasks to be accomplished include the following. Assist the Government in determining the processes and common work products required to initiate, institutionalize, and sustain Air Force Smart Operations (AFSO) 21 principles and practices across Air Combat Command Guide and assist in developing standard methodologies by which to choose future improvement initiatives Facilitate studies related to productivity and process improvement using tools such as AFSO 21, Lean, Six Sigma, Theory of Constraints, Value Stream analysis, Rapid Improvement Events, benchmarking. Or process re-engineering, and 8-step problem solving projects. Guide and assist in developing organic AFSO 21 capability throughout ACC, Travel to multiple worldwide locations may be required to support such activity. Assist in developing a standardized, audience specific training program Mentor Level I and Level II facilitator candidates through their training events and or projects.  Experience: (List All Degrees and Specialized Experience Requirements)·  Minimum of 2 years experience in process improvement activities.   Experience applying AFSO21 tools (e.g. Lean, Theory of Constraints, Six Sigma, Business Reengineering, and Problem Solving) in DoD is desired.·  BS / BA degree in a business or technical related field · Documented teaching, mentoring, and training experience with the AFSO21 tools.  Must have experience mentoring and training novice facilitators.· Must have successfully facilitated at least 10 events from multiple disciplines.· Must demonstrate effectiveness in affecting change within smaller to medium-sized organizations, e.g. operational Air Force Wing of 3000+ people.· Must have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office products·  DoD SECRET Clearance required·  AFSO21 Level I Certification required,  Six Sigma Black Belt Certification highly desired Skills:Excellent analytical skills.Excellent oral and written communication skills.Strong listening skills, presentation skills and ability to influence potential clients Ability to work well as a member of a team, individually and in a leadership role.
