The Backup Administrator III will plan, automate, monitor, manage, and support the corporate production infrastructure backup process, which includes a growing EMC storage farm, and virtualized MS Windows server farms running on VMware. She/he will ensure compliance with change control processes, adherence to standards, and develop required documentation. She/he will participate in system maintenance activities and contribute to the optimization and performance of the enterprise infrastructure.QualificationsResponsibilities: Assist in the support of the production and development environments on a Windows and VMware infrastructure. Monitor and maintain the backup operations processes using data de-duplication technologies. Troubleshoot physical problems and address issues within the facility and Enterprise backup locations Assist in the management and implementation of OS patch and updates. Assist in the configuration of backup products. Support Storage Area Networks (SAN) and/or Network Attached Storage (NAS) solutions. Support backup and fail-over solutions and processes Support standards, guidelines, and best practices as directed. Serve as an escalation point for backup problems within the datacenter environment.Job Requirements and Qualifications:Strong technical background and in-depth knowledge of delivering complex solutions using industry best practices and methods. Demonstrated 2+ years of MS Windows and LAN/WAN networking experience in a large, distributed corporate environment; experience designing and administering backups. Experience with data de-duplication technology. Demonstrated 2+ years experience with enterprise backup tools and automated backup technologies. Experience with Dell servers and EMC storage components. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast paced changing environment ? multi-tasking, prioritization, and ability to meet deadlines in a timely manner. Ability to solve problems quickly and completely.Education and Professional Certifications: Associates degree or equivalent in a related engineering or technology discipline.Professional Certifications (required): MCSE or MCSAProfessional Certifications (desired): Certification in backup technologies
