Avionics/Electrical Technician - HelicopterDescription: The person chosen to fill this position will be part of a contractor maintenance team fielding a new rotorcraft model aircraft to into the US Army inventory at Ft. Bragg, NC and various other locations. In addition to maintenance activities, this person will also provide on-the-job training to US Army maintainer's once formal class room curriculum is complete. Candidate must be highly knowledgeable in the selection and use of contact crimpers, positioners, wire strippers, terminal lug crimpers, multimeters, megohmeters, heat guns and common hand tools used in the installation and termination of multi conductor shielded cables, coaxial, and triaxial cables utilizing environmental solder sleeve, and other type shield terminations into EMI type connectors and backshells. Knowledge of removal and installation of both unwired and wired contact from connectors and terminal board modules using correct removal tools. Must be capable of using test equipment necessary to functionally test electrical systems after modification. Strong working knowledge of reading wire routing and termination diagrams and installation practices based on SAE AS5088L. Knowledge of component location and identification on rotorcraft aircraft a plus. Candidate must be able to use the above knowledge to perform proper maintenance and have the ability to teach the subject to other less experienced maintainers. Requirements: Prefer 3 to 5 years' related electrician experience.
