Aviation Production Manager
The Aviation Production Manager is responsible and accountable for the operations of Stockroom, Shipping & Receiving, Sheet Metal Fabrication, and Avionics Fabrication production areas. In addition is responsible for supervision of Production Control. In this position the Aviation Production Manger will provide oversight and guidance to Incoming Inspection, Backshop Production, Shipping, Receiving, Stockrooms and Kiting. Providing direction to Back Shop leads and supervisors, Stock Room Supervisor, Shipping and Receiving, and Production/Material Control in workload scheduling and prioritization. Provide coordination with Materials Planning and Purchasing departments to ensure on-time delivery of components, fabricated or COTs, ensuring conformance with FAA PMA, AR95-20, and FAR 145 standards, policies, and procedures. Ensure facilities, support equipment are properly maintained. Ensure personnel are qualified or functions assigned. Ensure safety policies and procedures are adhered to. Ensures the coordination of parts and materials for all programs and projects. Coordinates with Program Managers and Engineering on materials requirements for incoming and in-work programs. Manage Materials department ensuring positive flow and distribution of materials/parts to workforce. Monitor incoming and in-work programs / projects and: Track fabrication materials from the initial order to issue for installation, Track vendor and customer furnished components ensuring delivery. Reports to the Director of Aviation.
Prepares reports providing departmental status as required. Maintains policies, procedures, and work instructions affecting the efficiency of the departments Prepares Resource Planning to support demands and minimize costs Develops performance measurement metrics to tack performance in material and production areas General Management role in inspiring team relationships within the materials, production groups, and other departments/programs. Ensures adequate production capacity in terms of resources and equipment Ensures adequate safety standards are met for Production Operations employees . Reviews state of the art manufacturing methods. Develops Master Production plans to support all program requirements.
Requirements:
Requires a broad knowledge of Materials and Operations management, organizational structure and personnel management earned through at least 10 years of related experience in increasing levels of management and authority in Aerospace and Defense related corporations .
Associate degree or equivalent in field of Planning or Manufacturing is desirable.
SKILLS REQUIRED:
High level of computer literacy including the MS Office suite applications
Ability to communicate at all levels of management, articulating status, problem identification and corrective action planning.
Must be a "hands on" supervisor capable of process management and daily interaction with safety, program management, material procurement, quality assurance, and engineering
Excellent communications, problem solving, interpersonal and decision-making skills.
