Aviation Avionics Manager

Job Description: Oversee and manage the daily operations of the Avionics Department. Responsible for the fiscal management, including strategic planning, budgeting and expenses, as well as the management and development of the Avionics staff. Assure quality avionics system installations, repairs and modifications to enhance company growth. Establishe realistic quotes to complete avionic system installs, repairs and modifications. Demonstrates a thorough knowledge of navigation, communication, autopilot and TAWS systems. Prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Practical problem solver with multiple variables. Must be able to identify problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Supervisory Responsiblities: Supervise five individuals: One subordinate supervisor position (Floor Technician Lead), and 4 non-supervisory positions. Supervise, manage and direct the selection, training and development of work assignments and personnel; work through the planning and scheduling stages as well as review and approve tasks; supervise work assignments and performance development. Other Duties and Required Responsibilites: - Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.- Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures. Report all unsafe activities.- Provide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge and skill.-Perform other duties as assigned.Education and Experience: A high school diploma is a minimum educational requirement for this position. Ten years of Avionics experience is preferred with two years management experience required. An absolute requirement is that the candidate must have had two years of accountability for departmental profit and loss.Computer Operations: Proficient personal computer skills, including electronic mail, record keeping, routine database activity, word processing, spreadsheet. CAD experience is preferred.Certificate, Licenses & Registrations: A FCC license is required. Any certificated school training is a plus.
