JOB TITLE: Auditor - Aerospace

 

Job Function: To lead and/or participate as an assessor during all phases of a client’s Management System (ISO9001, AS9100B, AS9110 and AS9003) in accordance with the company’s accredited certification program.  The Lead Auditor is the primary interface with the client before and during the process of all auditing activities.  Additionally, the Lead Auditor will help train low graded auditors through witness audits, technical support and education of both client and sales force as needed.  Strong leadership and management qualities are required in addition to the technical expertise necessary to perform audit assignments.

 

Tasks/Duties:  The Auditor will have extensive interaction with clients in an evaluation and audit capacity so tasks and duties shall be commensurate with the responsibilities listed below.  The specific tasks and duties are those defined in the Certification Program Manual.  Other tasks and duties may be assigned outside of the Certification Program. 

 

Responsibility:

1. Managing all phases of assessments/audits and recommendation for registration.

2. Planning and scheduling assessments/audits, and coordinating with team member(s).

3. Representing the assessment team and the company.

4. Total evaluation of client sites, reporting non-compliance to the Certification Authority.

5. Reviewing the quality documentation, assessing the system, conducting surveillance and audits in order to evaluate the Client’s Quality Management system before or after Certification, and for recommending whether Certification be granted, denied, suspended, or withdrawn.

6. Holding opening and closing meetings with and providing progress updates to Clients on the conduct of Pre-Audit, Stage I, Stage II, Annual Audits, Special Surveillance visits, Triennial Re-assessments, Change of Scope, Extension of Scope, Upgrades Audits, Transfer audits and results of team findings.

7. Explaining to the Client non-compliance and other infractions.

8. Producing reports to be submitted to the Certification Authority Department on each audit documenting all non-compliances.

9. Helping with lower tier auditor training, assisting sales forces on client visits.

10.  Conducting assigned audits in accordance with contracted client agreements & submit required reports in a timely manner.

 

Qualifications:  BA in Science or related degree and Standard (ISO9001, AS, etc) preferred
