Advanced Product Quality Engineer
Advanced Product Quality Engineer
SPECIFIC DUTIES, ACTIVITIES, AND RESPONSIBILITIES: This individual will work closely with Manufacturing Engineers in designing quality requirements into process designs. They will also be responsible for working with Project Management, Design and Product Engineers to execute advanced quality activities for new product development and introduction, support customer interface and miscellaneous projects as assigned. They will carry out all APQP activities considering customer specific requirements throughout the Product development phases including Design and Process FMEA’s, Process Flow, Control Plans, Gage R&R as well as design reviews for the assigned product and related tooling.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Other responsibilities include: 1. Prototype process. Track and report First Time Capability for prototype builds. Facilitate prototype dimensional layouts and prepare prototype PPAP and/ or PSW submissions. 2. Initiate dimensional layouts on production piece parts for the purpose of qualifying piece parts for production release. 3. Work in conjunction with Production Engineer to ensure the manufacturing process is meeting the product’s defined quality level and that the processes meet capability levels identified for the product. 4. Work in conjunction with process and engineering personnel to ensure that control plans, work instructions and product audit schedules are defined with procedures and work instructions to support the production line yield goals and customer requirements. 5. Define and Implement SPC requirements. Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
Experience using quality tools (SPC, Gauge R&R, capability studies, FMEA, control plans).
Strong knowledge of GD&T.
Knowledge in statistical problem solving and analysis (regression, T-tests, chi-square, ANOVA, design of experiments).
Knowledge and experience in reliability test design and analysis.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Mini-Tab.
Education and Experience:
Technical Degree – BS degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Manufacturing preferred)
7+ years related quality engineering experience
ASQ certified Quality and /or Reliability Engineer
