Accountant
This position is located in our VA, Fairfax facilityPRINCIPAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:1. Collects and verifies documents for input into accounting system 2. Monitors contract validity and accuracy within the cost accounting system 3. Develops descriptive materials which explains the flow of the cost accounting process 4. Gathers information from customers to accurately predict cash flow 5. Assists with the development of new processes or updates existing processes to meet customer needs 6. Analyzes project cost in order to be able to properly invoice customers 7. Prepares invoices with unbilled analysis for project managers and director approval 8. Maintains current knowledge of relevant technologies and subject areas 9. Works under general supervision 10. Participates in special projects as required Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, professional training, or work experience.Typically requires 2-5 years of related experience in accounting.Knowledge of Government contracts (FFP, T&M, CPFC) Responsible for billing government contracts and commercial clients in timely and accurate manner Responsible for a variety of accounting assignments including the preparation, review, verification and reconciliation of government invoice vouchers Coordinate billing matters with other departments Knowledge of accounting regulations, policies, and procedures, including GAAP; Effective communication skills; Effective administrative and organizational skills; Proficiency in the use of spreadsheet and other financial software applications, including Excel, Access, and Costpoint.WORKING CONDITIONS: The work is typically performed in an office environment, which requires normal safety precautions; work may require some light physical effort in the handling of light materials, boxes or equipment.The above job description is not intended to be, nor should it be construed as, exhaustive of all responsibilities, skills, efforts, or working conditions associated with this job.Requests for reasonable accommodations will be considered to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the principal (essential) functions of this job.Submit Your Resume Online Now
