APPLICATIONS DEVELOPER

TYBRIN Corporation is seeking an Applications Developer to join the Wright Research Site Management Information System development team at the Wright Patterson AFB, Ohio location. The position works with a team that develops and supports corporate MIS applications for Air Force Research Laboratory offices at Wright Patterson AFB Ohio and other selected bases. The developer responsibilities include requirements definition, design, development, and testing activities on multiple applications using the tools listed below. Most of the development work is for maintenance of existing applications. Additional duties include creation and modification of development documentation and providing technical assistance to the customer regarding application development and day to day operational support. The applicant will be working under and helping optimize organizational software engineering processes. Requirements: Requires a Bachelors degree in CS, MIS, or similar field, plus 5 years software development experience. The successful candidate will have experience and a solid understanding of many of the following areas: • Oracle 9i or later database development, including:o SQL syntax, writing scripts, complex queries, etc.o PL/SQL, specifically stored procedures, functions, packages, and advanced objectoriented features.• Oracle Forms (6i or later). (Oracle Reports experience is a plus.)• Database-driven web application development experience.• Microsoft Office suite application development, particularly for Excel and Access, using Visual Basic for Applications and connectivity to external databases.• PC application development using any 4th generation languages such as Microsoft Visual Basic or Microsoft Visual C++. • Unix operating system (any variant) with some shell scripting experience.Superior interpersonal and communication (oral and written) skills, both formal and informal, are required for documentation and interacting with the government program office and their customers. The applicant must be flexible; willing to take on multiple roles. The applicant must have demonstrated ability to perform well independently, taking the initiative to research solutions to problems. The applicant must also be able to work well with others as a team member.U.S. Citizenship Required.
