Again. And hp consulting continues to change it. Job Description:This role is all about bringing a can-do approach to can't cope infrastructures. Part of an engagement team, you'll work on fast paced projects implementing, integrating and customizing key end-to-end solutions for It management, data warehouse/business intelligence, security storage, e-services and mission critical/high availability systems. That will mean working closely with clients to assess their business and technical requirements, then designing, planning, customizing and configuring systems, software and environments and integrated solutions that deliver total satisfaction in a booming e-economy.  Daily responsibilities would be as followed;Manage a SMS infrastructure that is comprised of approximately 15 servers and 20,000 clients Install, configure, maintain, monitor and troubleshoot Microsoft SMS/SCCM servers; provide support and assistance to the Technical Support teams Distribute SMS packages Authenticate mandatory/option software to all SMS servers Assist in supporting the agency’s standard desktop hardware and software configuration Manage SMS related Web based applications and administration Evaluate software upgrades and patches, assist in developing software distribution packages, help define procedures and documentation for such packages, help gather and maintain hardware and software inventory and maintain the systems management software itself Provide quality assurance including monitor system operation, performance tuning, and logs in SMS/SCCM operation Work closely with the Technical support team in resolving various issues/problems with the inventory/software distribution process Develops procedures and documentation for inventory/software distribution process Evaluates new versions of systems management software for stability, reliability, performance and compatibility with the agency’s existing environment Manage Automatic Update Service operations, including providing critical security patches and anti-virus configuration updates  Active Top Secret/SCI clearance B.S. in Information Systems or equivalent work experience (min. 3 years) directly related to SMS administration and user support Strong command of network terminology Microsoft Certified System Engineer (MCSE) and or equivalent working experience of three years supporting a large installation of Microsoft Windows 2000/Windows 2003 servers Advanced knowledge and experience supporting a large SMS infrastructure Good understanding of MS SQL and Crystal Reports Scripting Skills (prefer VBScript); ability to create and deploy VBS and SMS Installer scripts to automate system tasks Create customs SMS queries to provide management with software deployments status, asset inventory (hardware and software), and software metering usage reports Thorough understanding of process flow for SMS software distribution and patch management Experience with SMS Operations System Deployment (OSD) Feature  Pack, and Software Update Services (SUS) is a plus Programming/Software development background (i.e. C, C++, Visual Basic, Perl)  Very familiar with operation of MSIEXEC and Install Shield.  (use of Transforms- MST and Install Shield answer files - ISS ) Experience installing/uninstalling applications via SMS and/or active directory across an enterprise. Demonstrate a working knowledge with the Microsoft Registry (detecting necessary changes for programs that may need  additional changes not performed by the software's install method.) SMS 2003 operational experience (Package creation, Deployments, Collection creation, etc.) Familiar with WISE packaging software and/or Softricity/Softgrid.  © 2007 Hewlett-Packard Development Company, L.P.
