Required Skills: Ph.D. in Computer Science, Physics, Engineering or similar discipline with 6+ years experience, or an MA/MS degree with 8+ years work experience, or a BA/BS degree with 10+ years experience. Â Â Successful record of being highly motivated and working effectively in a team environment. Â Â Excellent problem-solving skills, and significant experience interacting with customers to gather high-level requirements. Â Â Strong knowledge and experience in systems administration, software testing, scripting, and GUI development. Â Â Experience with Tcl/Tk. Â Â Strong analytical skills. Â Â Willingness to travel and support real-time testing of delivered software at customer sites. The ability to operate effectively, and solve complex problems in a high pressure environment. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as strong interpersonal skills. Must be able to obtain a Secret Security Clearance. Willingness to travel frequently to customer sites. Desired Skills: Individual with knowledge and experience in some or all of the following fields: system administration, software test tools and/or modeling and simulation tools and techniques. Â Â Experience as a technical writer. Â Â Excellent presentation skills are highly desirable.
Will: Be a Lead Software Tester on the U.S. Army’s non-kinetic effects training simulation, the Joint Non-kinetic Effects Model. Be required to serve as a tester of the Corps Battle Simulation (CBS) as well as periodically be the sole CBS operator at test, validation, and operational readiness events.   Serve as point of contact providing technical leadership and direction for real-time testing and use of complex software for external customers in very dynamic environment. Facilitate communication with customers, project managers and senior developers to model, implement, test and support the Joint Non-kinetic Effects Model. Will be responsible for: system engineering, design, implementation, and test of new functionality, traveling to support test and validation events and the initial user exercises, writing software documentation, and troubleshooting Test Incidence Reports. Analyze models with no precedent. Provide technical expertise to implement software in multiple environments including multi resolution federation. Collaborate with cognizant engineers responsible for system engineering, modeling, and software architecture. Will report programmatically to the Joint Non-kinetic Effects Model System Engineer, and administratively to the Reasoning, Modeling and Simulation Group Supervisor.
