Web Developer / Programmer

Rapidly growing, Elgin-area web design and development agency seeks talented, freelance web programmers. We are looking for individuals with 1-3 years of real world experience specifically in the hospitality industry who have created complex web-based applications and consumer web sites that are state of the art and extremely interactive.

Candidates should be able to show tested proficiency in programming concepts like abstraction and object-oriented design, relational database design and optimization, and SQL query creation.  They must also write clean, efficient, well-structured and well-commented code.  Programming is done in PHP using MySQL as a database, so experience with these technologies is a huge plus.  Experience with subversion and unix / apache administration would be another big plus.  Experience in writing standards-compliant HTML and using CSS is also desired, as well as the ability to communicate with creative types.

Our agency is located in downtown Elgin, Illinois, blocks from Metra stations, though use of reliable transportation is encouraged. Situated in a newly remodeled early 20th century Elks Club lodge, our agency's atmosphere is laid back and casual, though you'll never not be busy.

Please specify your desired per hour rate, though most of our work is per project.

We prefer that the team members work onsite, however we will consider someone in the local area, as long as they can occasionally come into our office for project meetings or to a clients office location. For this reason, we can not accept ANY out of state or out of country responses.
