Manager (Manager/Supervisor of Staff) Education Level: Bachelor's Degree Reference Code: 3869 Technical Ops Supervisor IOCCUPATION:Audio/Video Broadcast & Postproduction;Production/Operations Planning;Telecommunications Administration/Management POSITION OVERVIEW: JOB SUMMARY:Responsible for supervising the technical operational areas of assigned areas of Charter Media’s Media Operations Center (MOC), overseeing the activities of the Tech Ops Department while maintaining system integrity and overseeing technical operations.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION:Supervise all assigned areas of technical operations at the MOC level to maintain the integrity of the cable plant and assure quality and consistency of voice, video, and data to customersProvide technical support and direction to key market area (KMA) and field locations regarding new or existing technologies, operational standards, and staff development; and provide technical support to the regional office as neededParticipate in the preparation of the capital and operating budget process and monitor activity throughout the year to ensure capital and operating expenses are controlled according to the budgeted plan to meet or exceed annual cash flow, including negotiating with contractors and vendors to achieve bids within budgetMonitor current procedures and tests performed in accordance with FCC standards to ensure compliance with FCC standardsMonitor and review system material management procedures, inventory control, safety-training program and security to ensure compliance with standard operating proceduresMaintain records as required by system, regional, and corporate offices, the FCC, and other government agenciesPerform other duties as requested by supervisor PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:Ability to communicate orally and in writing in a clear and straightforward mannerAbility to handle multiple projects and tasksAbility to maintain confidentialityAbility to prioritize and organize effectivelyAbility to supervise and motivate othersKnowledge & understanding of the testing and reporting of technical proofs of performanceKnowledge of all aspects of CATV operations as defined by performance and maintenance of equipment and electronics operating parametersKnowledge of cable television products and servicesKnowledge of construction practices and specifications and headend operation & standardsKnowledge of Installation/Service requirements both as it relates to staff & proceduresKnowledge of the capital and operating budget processEducation (level and type)Bachelor’s degree in electronic engineering or related field, or equivalent experienceSCTE Certification or equivalentRelated Work Experience                                                                   Number of Years/Months Video Engineer                                                                                                         2 Years CATV technical experience serving in a lead position                                      4 YearsCertifications and/or LicensesValid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record within Company required standards WORKING CONDITIONS: Office environmentExposure to periodic high noise levelsHeadend environmentAbility to lift 50 pound boxes Send This Link To A Friend
