Provide support for the Windows OS and Application/System design and implementation to NAM’s internal business units, departments and end users. Support IT related technologies that are inline with NAM’s business direction and initiatives. Work independently or in teams on IT projects, assignments and company initiatives. This position is entry level and, therefore, the person in the position must exhibit a strong desire to learn and grow in the job
Given the nature of technical support, the person in this position must be willing to work evenings and weekends as appropriate.
Provide support in a specific area of technology, both performing day-to-day maintenance tasks and participating in projects.
Thoroughly learn their assigned area of technology, reaching a point where they can work independently.
Maintain IT system solutions on Windows 2000/2003, Citrix Presentation Server/MS Terminal Server and IS infrastructures.
Proactively maintain Microsoft 2000/2003 servers systems, hardware, Operating System and Domains, in remote/core offices and hosting co-locations.
Maintain Windows 2000/2003 backup jobs and Windows 2000/2003 schedule tasks.
Maintain WINS/DNS/DHCP/IAS network applications.
Maintain DFS and Virtual Server.
Maintain and support hardware systems.
Flawless execution of technical projects to ensure maximum availability of the necessary infrastructure to support all business applications.
Keep abreast of new technologies and, as appropriate, recommend such technologies that can improve business performance at an acceptable cost.
Work closely with the Applications team to ensure a high degree of success in all their efforts.
Document server and application configurations, processes, and create end user instruction guides.
Provide scheduled and after hours support as needed for NAM’s Windows 2000/2003 based applications.
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science and or LAN/WAN/Internet networking technologies.
Microsoft Certification - MCSA a plus
3 years of experience supporting Microsoft Windows 2000/2003.
3 years of working with an Active Directory domain infrastructure for Microsoft Windows networks.
Experience with the basic fundamentals of supporting LAN / WAN infrastructure.
Experience with supporting Microsoft Terminal Server and/or Citrix Presentation Server based applications.
Experience with administrating Internet/Intranet web-hosting, Exchange 2000/2003, SQL Server 2000/2005, and SMS Server 2003 (highly desirable)
Must have a working knowledge of DNS, DHCP, Active Directory, TCP/IP.
Knowledge of Citrix Presentation Server and MS SQL Server is desirable.
Knowledge of supporting Microsoft Windows 2000/2003 operating systems and domain environments.
VB batch Programming/Scripting.
Technical writing documentation skills.
Demonstrable ability to quickly learn new technologies.
Positive attitude and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Willingness to work extended hours and/or weekends to accommodate necessary maintenance windows.
Willingness to travel to remote offices in North America - ocassional.
