IXI Corporation has a 10 year track record with major Fortune 500 companies and is privately held and based just outside of Washington, D.C. in McLean, Virginia.

 

Position Description

 

The Systems Administrator will help provide network, server and helpdesk support to ensure optimum company-wide performance reliability.  Candidate must possess the ability to work well with people from different disciplines with varying degrees of technical experience.  This position requires a strong ability to work independently and with a team. The System Administrator will report to the VP Manager, Technology Infrastructure.

Responsibilities:Implements, configures, and maintains all organizational IT systems, devices, and software, including:Windows XP WorkstationsWindows 2003 ServersActive DirectoryMS-ExchangeIT Business Continuity and Archival servers and functionsCisco access routers, layer-3 switchesJuniper Firewalls and SSL-VPNsProvides system and networking assistance to the IXI employees in a timely manner.Monitors and modifies assigned systems for overall system performance and security optimizationEvaluates system hardware and software requirements and makes recommendations, as appropriateSupports desktop and portable users for local and remote employeesProvides direct client service support, as needed, in receiving and transmitting large data filesSupports the development of a Sharepoint-based business process management capabilityProvide after-hours and weekend IT support, as needed and appropriate

Required Skills:Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent experience or technical certification Two (2) or more year’s prior related experience in a professional IT-related work environment.Experience implementing and administering Microsoft Windows-based environmentsKnowledge of contemporary networking products and techniques (i.e. VPNs, NAC, fiber networking, telecommunications options, collocation and data center services, etc.)Knowledge of contemporary Microsoft workstation and server management products and techniques (i.e. SMS, GPOs, Active Directory, Disk Encryption, etc.)Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA) or Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) or equivalent training or certification desiredCisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or equivalent training or certification a plusWeb development and/or Microsoft Sharepoint experience preferredExcellent verbal and written communication skills, particularly the ability to verbalize or express complex technical concepts effectively verbally and in writingAbility to work either independently or in a team environment, depending on the task Strong interpersonal skills and willingness to demonstrate commitment to internal clientsAbility to handle multiple tasks, meet deadlines, manage internal client expectationsProficiency in Microsoft Office
