Staff Accountant for a Boutique Marketing Agency in the Back Bay

Established, privately-held boutique marketing agency in the Back Bay is searching for a Staff Accountant



Responsibilities: 

  Reporting directly to the Accounting Manager, the person will be responsible for the full cycle of production billing and accounts payable processes.  

 

 

Accounts Payable Essential Functions:

  Match production invoices to purchase orders and route for approval. Accurately code and enter invoices. Research and resolve differences arising in vendor accounts in a timely manner. Prepare and process timely vouchering and check runs to ensure turnaround deadlines are met, with all supporting back up. Maintain all records and files Be proactive in keeping supervisor up to date on status of invoices and potential problems. Enter internal client-related costs (such as telephone, fax, copier charges, etc.). Primary contact with vendors and purchasing on AP disputes, issues or concerns Maintain an accurate corporate wide vendor list; timely address and name changes. Billing Essential Functions:

·         Produce retainer bills for clients consistent with terms of      contract

·         Distribute job status reports / WIPS to Account      Executives for review according to the finance calendar.

·         Pursuant to Account Executives review, process      necessary changes

·         Produce Draft Invoices for final review by Account      Executives

·         Produce Final Invoices and Backup

·         Produce and distribute monthly accounts receivable      statements

 

Performs other duties as required

 

Requirements:

  BS degree in Accounting preferred or relevant work experience. Advertising or service industry experience a plus. Excellent accounting skills and knowledge. Strong working knowledge of Excel and Word. Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Experience with accounting software systems. Advantage (a BCS product) a plus.
