Software Quality Assurance Analyst
Job Title: Software Quality Assurance Analyst Department: Information Technology I. Responsibilities: This position works in a dynamic environment to assist with requirements definition, test plan/test case development and execution to ensure that our software products meet AHM quality standards. This position reports to the Software Quality Assurance Manager. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:· Work closely with product developers to defining and executing unit- and integration-level tests on more complex new features and components being developed.· Work with development to help troubleshoot software problems. · Ability to setup, execute and understand the results of functional, performance and persistence tests.· Ability to identify, analyze and communicate unplanned for problems and issues.· Ability to identify gaps and deficiencies in existing test plans, scripts and cases, and effectively extend test plans where necessary.· Ability to analyze and report test results and testing status from an overall product perspective.· Ability to organize and execute tasks and overall workload based on team goals and priorities · Ability to analyze documented functional requirements and specifications and, based on this analysis, (1) identify gaps in the defined requirements and specifications and (2) define a test plan that will assure that the defined requirements and specifications are fully met. · Ability to develop and maintain test scripts and cases, software test and performance measurement tools using appropriate programming languages or software applications.· Effectiveness in working closely with developers, providing (1) review and recommendations on design specifications from a quality and testability perspective, and (2) unit and integration level testing on early versions of new products and features.· Effectiveness in providing technical training, guidance and direction to more junior SQA staff, balancing leadership and teamwork values. II. Competency Requirements: Education or Equivalent: · Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or at least 4 years experience in software testing. Skills Requirements: Proficiency with SQA concepts, issues, methods and tools.· Explicit training in SQA methodology, particularly in all aspects of software product testing.· Knowledge of all facets of software product testing and quality measurement including awareness of generally available and accepted solutions that apply to each facet. · Ability to clearly communicate status of technical projects· Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships· Ability to maintain own work flow and meet deadlines· Ability to work harmoniously and effectively as part of a work team III.
