Senior .Net Engineer (Apartments.com)

Major Responsibilities / Project:

 Design, develop, and help lead efforts for adding new features or building new systems for Apartments.com website and backend business operations applications using ASP.Net, C# and other technologies.
Work in a team environment with Project Managers, QA and Technical Operations to provide technology solutions that meet the defined requirements and goals of the business.
Lead in the technical design of software components, which may span across multiple applications and platforms. Use extensive experience to help translate requirements into technical designs and tasks. Lead the research and development of software component optimization and scalability. Research new software development technologies.
Provide estimates on assigned tasks. Verify/confirm others' estimates. Assist less experienced engineers in the task estimation process.
Communicate project/issue status in a reliable and accurate manner through appropriate tools and processes.
Suggest and implement process improvements within the team.
Work with external groups to resolve issues such as customer service, corporate technology, and external vendors.
Mentor and help develop more junior-level developers.

Experience/Education/System Requirements .NET and C# development skills. Experienced in developing a high profile website written using Microsoft .Net technologies SQL development skills: Transact-SQL, stored procedures, functions, triggers Experienced client-side web development skills a plus: HTML, Javascript, DHTML, and XML. Knowledge of object-oriented analysis and design concepts Bachelor degree in Computer Science or related field. Five or more years of professional software development experience. Able to learn new technologies, applications and skills quickly - specifically on Microsoft platforms. Able to debug and resolve issues quickly. Strong written and oral communication skills. Able to identify issues on the team and adjust/mitigate appropriately early in the project. Able to provide estimates that are accurate and achievable considering all aspects of the application development lifecycle. Forward thinking, able to work with minimal direction and exercise judgment when solving problems. Ability to provide strong customer service skills and demonstrated attention to detail. Able to create strong relationship with internal clients and provide a positive view of the Development organization.
