Senior Manager, Consumer Insights and Market Research

PetSmart is currently looking for a Senior Manager, Consumer Insights and Market Research located at the Corporate Office in Northwest Phoenix. SUMMARY The Senior Manager, Consumer Insights and Market Research leads the consumer research process for the company. He/She works with senior management to understand its research needs. Works with research vendors to develop and place research. Analyzes the research results, identifies key insights. Presents the research findings to senior management and recommends business actions based on the findings. Acts as a team player, bringing strong interpersonal and collaborative skills along with the ability to prioritize work effectively and manage simultaneous projects as well as the efforts of one (1) direct employee. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Leads the research strategic planning process to assist Senior Management in uncovering new areas of business opportunity and/or identifying areas of competitive weakness. Manages vendor relationships; identifies new/emerging research vendors and new/emerging forms of research. Partners with PetSmart merchants and leads vendors to place, analyze, and report the findings of 8-12 Category Management consumer research studies. Partners with PetSmart management to develop, place, and analyze ad-hoc consumer research projects, such as market studies, advertising testing, and focus groups. Places, analyzes, and reports the findings of PetSmart’s quarterly brand tracking study. Places, analyzes, and reports the findings of the Store Operations and Grooming monthly customer satisfaction studies. Completes research plan in accordance with established timelines. Develops the long-term group organizational plan, outlining staffing needs and succession planning. Manages a multi-million dollar annual research budget, striving for greater insights while seeking budget efficiencies.EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Minimum Bachelor's degree from four year college or university and ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
