HNW’s signature offering is HNW Publisher, a turnkey, Web-based publishing platform for affiliated advisors and major financial services firms seeking to publish high-net-worth content on their websites or reach clients and prospects through targeted e-communications programs.

 

The HNW Publisher team is looking for a talented, team-oriented engineer to join our team. We are looking for individuals with a strong software engineering backgrounds specializing in web application framework and/or middle-tier Java/systems experience.

 

Engineers will be working on the breadth of the HNW Publisher Platform including web services, cluster management, and data acquisition.

 

We are looking for an individual to offer hands on contribution to daily tasks within the development cycle while also participating in ongoing refinement to the system’s architecture. The candidate’s role combines strong technical leadership with a growth path towards potential future management of a team.RequirementsBachelors Degree in Computer Science or related field or substantive experience in industry.4-6+ years experience in designing and developing Java-based server applicationsA strong understanding of Service-Oriented ArchitectureExcellent communication skillsAbility to provide technical mentorship to more junior developersAbility and desire to work in a highly collaborative, team-oriented, and distributed environment.SkillsStrong XML knowledge. An ideal candidate is capable of designing an XML Schema. Good knowledge of XML parser types and capabilities. JAXB 2 knowledge a plus. An excellent command of the Java language. Demonstrative experience developing J2EE applications. Knows how to create an EJB and Web application. Experience with JBoss AS 4.x is ideal. Experience with Java 5 EE technologies a plus.Has used messaging technologies such as JMS and Web Services. An understanding of RESTful Web Services would be ideal.Has and understanding of, or experience developing, systems which use a Service-Oriented Architecture. Experience with an Enterprise Service Bus is a bonus.Experience with Hibernate 3.x and/or JPA. An ideal candidate will have an understanding of the table-per-subclass inheritance strategy and experience with the Hibernate Criteria API.Reasonable SQL skills. You are comfortable writing basic SQL queries and can create database tables, etc. Experience with PostgreSQL 8 a plus.Experience with web application frameworks such as JSF, Struts, and JBoss Seam.Experience developing content management systems a big plus.

· Analytical, coding and debugging skills

· Communication skills – able to communicate both in person and over email/IM.
