The Senior Human Resources Professional will be a strategic business partner to the company management team. Responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following: Primary NY office resource to answer employee and manager questions, diagnose human resources needs and problems, recommend solutions and deliver high quality programs that result in improved performance and retention Builds support for human resources initiatives with stakeholders. Keeps stakeholders informed throughout the implementation of these initiatives Recruitment for NY and Field offices including: sourcing and interviewing candidates (telephone screens and face-to-face interviews), scheduling interviews, reference checks, and assisting hiring managers with hiring decision Consults, reviews and approves employee development, disciplinary and termination actions. Guides managers/supervisors through the proper steps of the progressive disciplinary process while managing employment risk. Conduct new hire orientation and process new hire paperwork. Schedules and performs exit interviews to determine reason for separation and identify opportunities for internal department/organizational improvements. Assist the compensation & benefits, training and recruitment teams in implementing programs including open enrollment, performance appraisals, job descriptions & training programs. Maintain current knowledge and understanding of regulations, industry trends, current practices, and applicable laws regarding human resources and ensures compliance. Assures location specific legislative employment posters and building emergency evacuation plans are up-to-date and prominently posted. Coordinates payroll administration: provide timesheet verification, payroll proofing, submission of all new & changed payroll related items; HRIS entry for all employee actions Administration of leave programs, including STD and FMLA and unemployment and worker’s compensation claims. General administrative support, file maintenance, HRIS entry and employment verifications Performs other duties or projects as required by the Vice President of Human Resources.Required Skills: Bachelors Degree in Business, Human Resources or related field 2-4 years of previous HR experience Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to maintain confidentiality High attention to detail and proven analytical skills Excellent computer skills (MS Word, Excel, Power point) Excellent organizational skills; ability to prioritize effectivelyProfessional Attributes TNS Media seeks bright, positive and flexible candidates who will: Act with the highest integrity and professionalism in all their endeavors.
