Job Description:

 

This position will be part of our dynamic and fast paced development team, and mainly responsible for metadata collection and delivery, data quality control process and release management for the ETL team.

 

Major Responsibilities:

 

q Gather requirements from different application groups and business analysts to design metadata standards and collection process.

q Create Ab Initio Enterprise Metadata repository and related web interface to store and deliver metadata information.

q Manage and administrate metadata access and security requirements for the repository.

q Manage ETL test/staging environment and metadata promotion to production environment as the Release Manager.

q Design extract, transform and load (ETL) components and process flow using ETL tool Ab Initio to upload and download metadata from various applications.

q Develop, test and automate metadata upload/download, data quality control applications, release procedures using various technologies available, including Abinitio, Oracle SQL and PL/SQL, Unix Shell Scripts, and Perl.

q Work independently in the development, testing, implementation and maintenance of systems of moderate-to-large size and complexity.

q Document metadata standards and designs, data quality control processes and production release procedures.

q Provide detailed analysis of problems and recommends solutions to the team developers regarding ETL development standards and best practices.

 

Educational Requirements:

 

BS in Computer Science, Engineering, Management Information Systems, or related fields.

 

Required Skills or Experience

 

q Experience with ETL development using Ab Initio.

q Experience in designing, implementing and creating custom schema using Ab Initio EME.

q Experience in loading and unloading metadata components in Ab Initio EME.

q Minimum 5+ years of programming experience working with UNIX environment

q Solid programming experience with shell scripts and/or Perl.

q Familiar with DBMS table design, loading and tuning principles, and experienced in SQL and stored procedures.  RDBM can be Oracle, MS SQL Server, DB2 or Sybase.

q Any experience in SAS is a plus.

q Experienced with formal software development life cycle. 

q With strong analytical and problem solving skills

q With the ability to work effectively with other team members.
