We are currently seeking a Senior Account Executive-Consumer Media. The SAE will play a key role in a dynamic, fully integrated communications team helping to drive highly visible consumer campaigns for one of the world's best-known brands. The position is perfect for someone thirsting to help define a new direction for a client; for someone eager to work on a global stage with colleagues in fifteen offices spread across four continents, and for someone who wants to gain invaluable first-hand experience seeing all facets of a marketing operation in action. Reporting to the SVP of Global Consumer Public Relations, the SAE will lead day-to-day aspects of the account with specific project management responsibilities. They will create compelling consumer pr programs that bring the client's brand to life on the pages of the world's best consumer, fashion, design and lifestyle publications; in business magazines and newspapers, and throughout the blogosphere and other social media platforms. The position also will be responsible for developing competitive positioning and for driving executive communications programs, including securing industry and media-hosted speaking opportunities
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Defining and driving digital/social media relations campaigns that speak directly to -- and engage –consumers Developing and executing broad-based media relations strategies and plans that engage consumer, lifestyle and fashion/design publications Executing day-to-day media relations programs, such as strategic story pitching and story placement Writing and editing a wide range of materials, including news releases, corporate and product backgrounders, by-lined articles, key messages, Q&A, bios and client correspondences Identifying media trends and news cycles and recommending when to insert the client into the conversations Maintaining a client’s "top of mind" status/establish company’s reputation as a "go to" resource for key reporters Developing and maintaining professional relationships with business and technology media Managing a proactive editorial calendar program and driving a comprehensive reviews program, and Learning, having fun, among other activities
REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES: 5 - 7 years of work experience in public relations Solid understanding of public relations tools and prior agency experience Strong media relations skills with established relationships (print, online, broadcast) Previous experience supporting, and knowledge of, sustainability and green IT Strong research, writing and editing skills; familiarity with AP style Solid understanding of the media and the ability to recognize trends Experience pitching and securing speaking opportunities Ability to multi-task and prioritize work under deadlines Track record of developing creative and innovative PR strategies Strong strategic and tactical business abilities Eagerness to learn in a fast-paced, integrated marcom environment Ability to lead projects and provide account direction
