Senior Account Executive/Analyst Relations - Waggener Edstrom

The Microsoft Education Products Group and Worldwide Public Sector teams have partnered to convey a unified message to industry analysts of how Microsoft's education vision, products, and go-to-market activities impact governments, teachers, students and communities around the world. The team's work focuses on how the client's technology solutions positively impact the areas of K-12 and tertiary (higher) education. The Education analyst relations candidate writes and presents AR plans, drives day-to-day client management, consistently provides strategic perspective in client counsel and proactively works to shape analyst reports, client recommendations and conference themes.

 

Responsibilities:

• Manage day-to-day contact with analysts on client’s behalf.

• Demonstrate depth of knowledge of AR industry and client business/product. Articulate nuances between specific firms and preferences of individual analysts in order to provide them value-added service and to thoroughly prepare clients for engagement.

ʉۢ Proactively cultivate relationships with key analysts to help influence their perception and support of clients.

• Proactively share insight with analysts on client’s vision, technology and unique position within the education industry. Educate on broader marketplace themes with goal of influencing perceptions and shaping report and conference content.

• Solicit feedback from analysts regarding the clients, competition and industry. Understand the consulting and inquiry process and how that can bring value to/influence the client’s business.

Client service:

• Manage day-to-day client relationships in EdPG and the Edu segment of the WW Public Sector organization.

• Develop and present AR plans that clarify business goals, situation analysis, challenges, solutions, measurement criteria and fiscal planning that complement client’s PR plans.

• Manage team’s progress on activities/projects. Ensure accurate, high-quality deliverables within budget and deadline expectations.

• Identify integration opportunities and key stakeholders, and share insight across teams with other WE AR and potentially PR professionals

• Read key publications and analyst reports daily. May share findings and implications for the business with the client, team or broader agency as appropriate.

• Read analyst reports; track perceptions, track interactions, momentum quotes, and coverage; recap and analyze through metrics defined by the team.

People Management:

• Coach, mentor and motivate junior team members. May directly manage one or more junior team members.

• Train and identify learning opportunities for team members on analyst relations, media relations, client service, strategy, and agency business.

• Contribute to team, agency and AR practice recruiting efforts by posting positions, participating in interviewing, evaluating and selecting candidates, and checking references.

 

Qualifications:

Education:

• Bachelors degree or above in communications, journalism or related field preferred

Experience Preferred:

• At least 4 years experience in AR, preferably in an agency setting and/or within the high tech industry. 5-6 years experience preferred.

• Demonstrated understanding of managing a long-term relationship of persuasion

• Has established analyst relationships

• At least 2 years managing a client relationship

• At least 1-2 years experience managing individuals or a team

• Worked under client and influential deadlines

• Has developed and written AR plans
