We are currently seeking a hands-on, highly motivated and detail-oriented person for the full-time position of Search Engine Marketing Director with specialized skills in the area of organic search engine optimization (SEO). The main purpose of this position will be to build and support the natural optimization of the www.NationalSafetyCommission.com network of educational web sites that are owned and operated by The National Safety Commission. The Director will also be responsible for managing and expanding the paid search marketing team.
Candidates should have the ability to multi-task, handle multiple projects at one time and collaborate in a team environment. Candidate must have effective organizational, communication, and time management skills.
Responsibilities: Improve natural search rankings and traffic throughout our network of web sites. Thorough understanding of necessary site structure and page construction improvements, content and keyword list development techniques, link-building techniques with ‘white hat’ partners, and reporting/analytical tools. Provide requirements and work with web development team to make necessary changes throughout our network to improve site rankings. Develop standards, best practices, and requirements for web page structure. Work with Paid Search team to improve content on landing pages to avoid disabling and deactivation of paid search terms. Monitor and report on robot/spider activity, identify algorithmic changes from major engines, research and report on applicable news. Continually monitor and report on organic search rankings and traffic from organic placement. Develop, communicate, and continually update techniques and methodologies for our SEO strategy. Manage Paid Search team to maintain current success and workflow. Continually monitor and report on paid search rankings and traffic from paid search placement.
Requirements: 4-year Bachelor's Degree. Extremely thorough, analytical, and focused on details. Expert-level user of Microsoft Excel. Very strong Microsoft Office and Internet skills. Track record of improving ROI through the detailed analysis of data, statistics, and business metrics. Ability to work independently/efficiently and to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Experience:
Beneficial experience in Search Engine Marketing will include: At least 2 years experience in natural search engine optimization. At least 2 years experience in paid search marketing. Strong knowledge of search engine algorithms and ranking strategies. Proven track record of effective SEO implementations having positive impact on web site rankings in major search engines such as Google, Yahoo, and MSN.
