Public Relations Publicist - Broadcast media
Do you have a track record in managing Public Relations across broadcast media preferably in the fashion industry. If so, you may be ready to assume this multi-faceted role of Public Relations Publicist for the number one women's plus-size retailer in the country. The Public Relations Publicist / Broadcast Media is responsible for managing and overseeing all media relations for broadcast media (TV and radio), celebrity, stylist and VIP product placements, coordinating the showroom, serving as spokesperson for fashion, and coordinating press events and media support services for CSI's internal clients. Media Relations/Strategy Partners with PR Director and PR Agency to develop and execute strategic PR plans to support the marketing goals of our internal clientsReviews and suggests new opportunities and coordinates/ facilitates (broadcast) fashion interviews Acts as stylist go-to for media pulls and celebrity/VIP outreach Monitors entertainment industry production calendars in order to leverage media opportunities Responds expeditiously to in-bound media inquiries and news developments Provides counsel & coordinates PR support services (i.e., styling, photography) to internal clients Coordinates any in-store media or product pulls for broadcast Advises Corporate Marketing or Communications departments of potential opportunities such as speeches, partnerships, sponsorships, charitable/community outreach, co-branded sponsorship programs, guerrilla marketing initiatives, etc. Acts as fashion spokesperson on behalf of CSI brands, with management approval Attends regular meet/greet sessions with key producers, stylists and attends events to leverage VIP/celebrity product placement opportunities Showroom Coordination Responsible for high-quality visual and organizational aspects of the showroom for presentation to the public and our internal clients Monitors all trafficking of sample merchandise: oversees sample tracking log to ensure that all samples are where they should be, tracks incoming and outgoing samples Updates and maintains contact lists for producers, editors, stylists and VIPs Responsible for providing editorial credits to the media Mails press kits, invitations, gifts etc. when necessary PR Agency Relationship Management Communicates regularly with PR agency to establish and maintain strong relationships with media contacts (editors, producers and stylists) in order to shape fashion media and consumer perceptions about our brands Along with PR Agency, manages national consumer media outreach including campaigns, look books, press kits, mailings, etc. Creates fashion press releases along with PR Agency and manages distribution Events Oversees all aspects of showroom fashion open houses Develops and implements celebrity/VIP and stylist outreach programs to leverage product placement Oversees and coordinates with PR agency regarding small and mid-range events; books all vendors including music, sound, catering, etc. Creates and proposes new fashion press events/activities Creates wrap reports to measure event success Management and Oversight Manages vendors to maintain efficient workflow, timely execution of deliverables, and cost control Partners with PR Director in PR planning and budgeting Forecasts budgets and reconciles invoices Provides regular feedback with PR Director and VP regarding campaigns and press coverage/events, including monthly/quarterly media reports, etc. in order to measure success Reviews daily broadcast media "hits" Reviews and compiles TV media coverage daily, along with PR Agency, and maintains video clip library Job Requirements: 5 - 7 years of professional experience within PR, media relations or marketing Proven ability in PR planning and pitching/communication Established contacts and relationships with broadcast media and within the entertainment industry Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; previous spokesperson experience preferred BA in Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism, Communications, or related field Computer proficiency required (MS Office Suite, Outlook, Access, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel) Professional, positive attitude with a strong work ethic Ability to act as a true "brand ambassador" for CSI's internal clients An eye for visual merchandising and a sense of fashion styling Creative and self-motivated PR Agency and/or fashion industry experience is preferred Click here to apply for this job https://charmingshoppes.ats.talentxpress.com/cgi-bin/pm/click.cgi?job_id=366&site_id=35We offer an excellent compensation and benefits package coupled with a challenging environment.
