Public Relations Assistant Account Executive- McDonald's D/FW Account

Public Relations Assistant Account Executive- McDonald’s D/FW Account

One of the most amazing opportunities a public relations professional could have may very well come from a firm you’ve never heard of. Moroch is a well-kept secret, and over the years we’ve quietly grown from handling regional retail clients to national brands.

We are growing quickly and reinventing the way public relations works in an integrated marketing environment. If you are great at media and client relations, great at building relationships with opinion leaders and executing integrated marketing campaigns…and understand that the changing consumer and digital environment creates more word of mouth opportunities than ever before…we need to talk.

We must be clear. This PR position is not for anyone who…. Thinks or believes that PR begins and ends with the news release Wants a job that’s centered around events or fundraisers Is not passionate about PR, their job and their clients Talks the talk, but can’t walk the walk and execute

Let’s start the conversation if you: Are a self-motivated and knowledgeable PR practitioner with an entrepreneurial mindset who works well on a team Have a minimum of two years of professional public relations experience, including news media relations experience Excel and have experience in opinion leader/influencer and third party relationship-building Have excellent pitching and news media relations skills (experience with English and Spanish language in the Dallas/Fort Worth DMA is preferred) Have superior written and verbal communication skills Develop and write effective public relations materials, using mastery of AP style Effectively deliver verbal presentations to clients and outside organizations, both formally and informally. Think strategically and see the big picture, but implement all the details on a granular level

We’d prefer the following, but they’re not mandatory: Experience working with retail industry clients Experience working with Fortune 500 brands Fluent in reading, writing and speaking Spanish Experience with crisis management Experience with employee relations/communications programs

Let’s Keep Talking if You: Can hit the ground running; assisting with the strategic development and execution of day-to-day public relations campaign and project responsibilities on behalf of multiple McDonald’s clients, prioritizing and managing high volume of detailed work while providing excellent client service. Can develop and maintain relationships and work collaboratively with key influencers and influential organizations that affect the clients’ business in the local markets (these include, but are not limited to local and state government agencies and personnel, health, community, civic organizations, minority community leaders, etc.) Are skilled in working with consumer generated and social media and regularly seek out new opportunities for your clients within the social media landscape. Can develop, execute and manage all aspects of community relations, including the implementation of national and grassroots PR programs and campaigns. Will lead and execute PR and social responsibility strategy on client’s behalf while proactively managing issues, seeking out opportunities through a strategic influencer outreach plan. Can handle crisis management, in cooperation with the PR Senior Account Executive, Moroch PR (as appropriate) and McDonald’s Greater Southwest Region. Can be a thought-leader on PR and McDonald’s PR best practices, as well as stay informed of public relations industry and clients’ industry dynamics. Will stay abreast of client and community happenings, potential pitfalls and opportunities through industry, business, political and community publications and networking on a continual basis. Can handle general administrative duties of day-to-day client PR activities, including usage of VOCUS, Factiva, client billing, and PR budget management. Can handle prep for all PR meetings, as well as post-meeting minutes and follow-up. Can execute and oversee PR-specific creative production, as needed. Regularly participate in training opportunities through Moroch and Moroch PR. Will serve as team subject matter expert on VOCUS, Factiva and other PR tools. Will demonstrate a team player attitude by being flexible and responsible, self-motivated, resourceful, manage time efficiently and show enthusiasm for the agency, clients and the business.

The Stuff You Want to Know if You Work For Us

Our Approach: We approach our clients’ business from an integrated marketing perspective. And, we’re passionate about their business – really passionate. We keep our clients for a long time and a part of the reason is because we learn the multiple aspects of their business from the inside out, as if it were our own. We are proud of the fact that we move the needle, building brand trust and loyalty for our clients, but we know we couldn’t do that if we didn’t get in there and roll around in it until we truly “get” it.

Your Working Environment: Fun, casual, yet stylish. Take a tour of our Dallas office at www.moroch.com Your team is hard working and focused upon doing great work for the client – but we never forget to have fun in the process. Our mantra: Nothing Gets in the Way of Great Work.

Your Team: A fiery group of public relations, advertising, creative, research and promotions folks who are vitally important partners with you because a cross-function team approach is the best approach to moving the needle for our clients. On every Moroch team, building the client’s business plan is truly a partnership between advertising and public relations. You’ll be working side-by-side with a group of business savvy marketing professionals whose main priority is meeting the client’s needs...and having fun while doing it.

Your Supervisor: You’ll be reporting to the Sr. PR Account Executive on the D/FW McDonald’s account and PR Account Director. If you get results, have great follow-through and prove yourself to be capable, you will earn their total confidence. They will proudly back up your decisions, and will look for opportunities for you to excel and grow in your career at Moroch.

Travel: 50% local community (D/FW Metroplex only).

Education/Training & Professional Development: You give some, you get some. We’ll give you the tools, best practices, and marketing industry resources. You’ll also learn from some of the best and brightest folks in the agency business. In turn, you have opportunities to share your knowledge with others, exert your proactive spirit and be a part of Moroch PR, the fastest growing and one of the most important teams within the Moroch system.

Life/Work Balance: No two days are ever the same. Ever. Because news media and clients do not run on a 9 – 5 schedule, you won’t always, either. Still, you’ll share a cool, fun working environment in a great centralized and hip Dallas neighborhood location with co-workers who work to live, not live to work.

Internal Networking: We have public relations practitioners in offices from coast-to-coast, with half of our team members being based in our Dallas headquarters. Moroch’s McDonald’s PR support system and structure allows daily interaction with our field manager and director. Monthly calls with the McDonald’s account PR team allow an established forum to talk about best practices and recommendations for executing national, regional and local plans. There’s an agenda but best practices sharing and feedback is encouraged throughout.

Our Values: Moroch is like a 300+ member family that calls themselves "Morochians." In fact, the man with his name on the door gets a rush out of seeing our employees blossom and grow. We do pro-bono work for non-profit organizations in the 40+ communities we serve and we have other clients who are socially responsible with a great story to tell. We’ve not quite “gone green” yet, but give us time.

Benefits: Employees enjoy free fountain drinks and popcorn. We provide a full range of benefits including health insurance options - offering medical, RX, vision and dental coverage as well as a 401k Retirement Savings Plan with an employer match. Employees receive two weeks of vacation right away, and three weeks of vacation after three (not five) years. Other benefits include Group Life Insurance; Short & Long Term Disability plus Optional Life Insurance available for both the employee & their family members. We offer a Flexible Spending Plan with Healthcare and Dependent Care options; Employee Assistance Program; Wellness Web site; and other added benefits including our fun work environment & free covered parking. Our office is located in the Uptown/Turtle Creek/Oak Lawn area near downtown Dallas and east access from Interstate 35, the Dallas North Tollway and Interstate 75. Moroch is an Equal Opportunity Employer M/F/D/V.

Please note: Relocation costs not covered by employer.

A Bachelors degree in communications or marketing (public relations/advertising/journalism) or business is preferred. Minimum (2) years professional public relations experience required. Experience in working with English and Spanish language news media in the Dallas/Fort Worth DMA is preferred. Superior written and verbal communication skills and mastery of AP style.
