West Coast Online Advertising Sales Manager

The Runner’s World Media Group and Cycling Group, the world’s largest media and marketing company in the endurance sports marketplace, is looking to add a top online Advertising Sales Manager to its Digital Division, a division that includes the following properties: runnersworld.com, runningtimes.com, bicycling.com, and mountainbike.com. The West Coast Online Sales Manager will be responsible for delivering focused solutions based advertising and marketing programs to top level domestic and international brands. The position is based out of Rodale’s Los Angeles office and reports to the Online Director of Advertising Sales based in NYC. S/he will work closely with the Online Sales Director and Online Marketing Manager in selling advertising programs to an account list of agencies and key prospects within a defined geographic territory. Territory is primarily the LA area but also includes targeted Northwest accounts, such as Nike.

Responsibilities include:
• Deliver/exceed quarterly and annual sales revenue goals
• Proactive prospect and close business from both clients/agencies in territory
• Create and execute monthly/quarterly/annual sales plan
• Weekly reporting on all sales activities and initiatives
• Quarterly sales plan updates and reviews w/management
• Day-to-day collaboration with account management; ad ops; business planning; in all aspects of sales strategy, planning, deal packaging, program execution and renewal

Ideal candidate will possess:
• 3-5 years Internet media sales experience is required, pharmaceutical experience necessary, health and wellness experience a plus
• Proven history of meeting/exceeding revenue goals
• Strong strategic selling skills with ability to drive, prioritize, and deliver revenue objectives
• Proven success in selling to senior level executives iand agency executives
• Outstanding oral and written communication and presentation skills
• Strong negotiation skills w strong interpersonal skills
• Motivated self-starter with pioneering spirit
• Interest in running and/or living an active lifestyle a plus
