Media iMpact Manager
Summary
The Media iMpact Manager is a unique opportunity to have the role of a “many hats” online media generalist typically found at a small, entrepreneurial agency, while still reaping the benefits of a large, global agency. The Manager will fundamentally be responsible for online media campaigns for Microsoft clients, but will also serve as a catalyst and test bed for new media and process technologies developed by the quantUM team. The Manager operates somewhat independently, but also collaboratively, as campaigns may integrate with other efforts including broader campaign efforts or technology developments. The Manager role is very goal oriented, as the Manager’s success is heavily dependent on campaigns achieving their goals. However, there is plenty of room for creative exploration and growth (especially for the technically savvy), being a member of the quantUM team, a unique media technology startup at Universal McCann. The position reports to the Group Director for quantUM.
Responsibilities
• Work within the framework of the quantUM Media iMpact model to deliver fast and efficient online marketing campaigns to Microsoft clients
• Work with account teams and/or clients to distill the requirements of a media campaign
• Develop the media plan from a predefined list of proven performing, prenegotiated, media tactics, all of which can be turned on or off at a moment’s notice
• Develop performance projections
• Develop search keyword lists and supporting creative copy
• Build and traffic campaign in Atlas
• Setup various search and bid based campaigns in the various campaign interfaces
• Setup reporting systems in preparation of automated updates
• Shepherd all client paperwork and finances internally and with client/account team
• Optimize campaigns daily, including testing as needed to accomplish campaign goal
• Work with analyst to assist with interpretation of campaign performance, including media, creative, online and offline, while providing creative insights and solutions
• Reconcile campaign media activity for client payment
• Recommend and test new media opportunities that fit the Media iMpact model
• Work with the technology and analytics team to define and test new Media iMpact technology or process enhancements
• Manage and nurture a team of Media iMpact Planners
• Manage overall Media iMpact profitability
Qualifications, Skills, Abilities
Required
• Mastery of Atlas, with the ability to create new campaigns, traffic and pull reports
• Mastery of bid-based media, exchange or auction platform models, such as Google AdWords, with the ability to manage bid pricing and optimization levers to meet client goals
• An inquisitive individual with enough technology knowledge to learn new tools and troubleshoot existing ones, as needed
• Fundamental understanding of media testing and optimization to goal
• Fundamental mastery of online media metrics
• Ability to ask questions, create hypotheses, test and optimize
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a cross-functional team
• Fundamental client service mentality
• Familiarity with numbers and ability to uncover analytical insights
• Creative, out of the box thinker who is always willing to challenge the status quo and ask hard questions
• A very efficient person, able to juggle multiple projects and efficiently manage a team to accomplish these goals
• An independent, reliable person who is capable of running with a project, but willing to seek guidance as needed
• Ability to write concise and clear recommendations, plans or guidance based on insights from raw data
• Experience managing a small team
Preferred
• Knowledge of other media systems such as MediaTools and Donovan
• Familiarity with online advertising research tools including Nielsen, Quantcast, Comscore and other similar systems
