Universal McCann Los Angeles currently has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Media Supervisor on a major entertainment account

The Media Supervisor is primarily responsible for all facets of media planning and servicing on Sony Entertainment releases assigned to his/her group.  Serves as primary back-up for Associate Media Director in the day-to-day running of the account. Supervises those Media Planners/Buyers and Media Assistants assigned to the group.

Responsibilities:

· Guides the development of overall media strategy of assigned media plan.

· Oversees the development and execution of assigned media recommendations and plans

· Provides specific work direction to planners, assistant planners, and media coordinators within his/her group, making expectations and deadlines clear.

· Accountable for on-time delivery of accurate and thoroughly thought out plans, recommendations, and documents produced by his/her group.

· Maintains procedures that produce effective and consistent internal communications to streamline requests and receipt of information and data from other departments within the agency.

· Partners with planners to review and double-check all document details to identify and correct all errors prior to review with AMDs or clients.

· Works closely with all assigned media personnel in the group, to assist with the analysis and evaluation of media information needed to prepare recommendations that best meet the media objectives and strategies of a plan.

· Reviews media plans and recommendations with Associate Media Director prior to presenting to Group Planning Director.

· Functions as a primary point of contact with the clients on the executive director, director and manager levels for all requests concerning media.

· Interprets, supervises, coordinates, and integrates, as necessary, all assigned media activities, including presentation and interpretation to the client, as required.

· Maintains the best possible relationship with client and media representatives in order to further mutual interests of the agency and its clients.

· Steward and oversee all media budgets for assigned films and projects.

· Responsible for developing the media skills and knowledge base of those more junior as well as supervise, advise and counsel the group in all daily account activities. 

· Motivates planners and encourages innovation and creativity throughout all projects by serving as a role model within the group / team.

· Maintains records and prepares periodic reports as requested by Associate Media Direct and/or Group Planning Director, i.e. billing documents, competitive reports

· Maintains familiarity with the history, present status and procedures of the client, as well as with conditions in the industry.

· Is at all times alert to new media and new methods of using existing media and new developments, and shares with the planning group of such developments.

· Provides an energy level that brings new and exciting ideas to the planning function and instills this in all employees assigned to his/her group

 

Qualifications:

· Bachelors Degree required

· Five plus years of Media Planning experience required

· Two plus years of media supervisory experience preferred

· Must be extremely accurate and detail oriented

· Must have hands on knowledge and ability to use media research tools

· This position requires strong mathematical and analytical abilities

 

Computer Skills:

 

· Solid personal Computer efficiency

· MS Office preferred including Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

· Ability to use most, if not all, published computer-based research tools.
