We have a positionin Johnstonstown, PA that will support the sales and marketing functions of the organization by developing and driving specific portions of the marketing strategy for regions as well as longer-term initiatives to reduce donor attrition and move donors up the brand experience ladder.
The successful candidate will need to become an expert of current and potential Red Cross donor needs, competition, and market opportunities. The individual in this role will need excellent copywriting and research skills, the ability to drive consensus from multiple stakeholders and oversee the execution of a variety of programs, campaigns and deliverables. The marketing strategy officer must have the ability to be a liaison and drive consensus from multiple stakeholders including senior management, cross-functional/global teams and vendors to deliver results. The best candidate will demonstrate Leadership in the Region and Division by developing, managing and implementing special projects and events that help to recruit blood donors and sponsors, and reinforce the Red Cross brand among key constituencies. This will involve working closely with marketing operations and public relations to ensure consistent messaging and marketing materials development, and to align with strategies and tactics outlined in marketing and public relations plans.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, English or education with a minimum of five 5)years of marketing experience. Work related experience requiring successful project management and team-building. Must have experience in developing promotional or program materials, event coordination, and developing partnerships with like-minded organizations. Documentation of working and effectively communicating with various target market groups a plus. Experience working with and developing relationships with local media markets desirable but not necessary. Valid driver’s license required. Exceptionally strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills. Ability to work on several projects simultaneously, each at various development phases is required. Knowledge of web-based communication and marketing tools a must. Must work well in teams while maintaining project lead status. Knowledge of age generations and their motivations desirable.
